Calgary Housing’s Hillhurst 1 rebuild has moved into the trade sequence that makes its schedule legible: interior demolition is complete, exterior demolition is about 80% complete, the future retail-space slab is being installed, and interior framing with mechanical and electrical rough-ins is underway. The 14 Street N.W. building is being regenerated as 80 two-bedroom homes with main-floor retail, with completion anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2026.
At 2020 6 Street N.W., Calgary Housing’s 16-home Mount Pleasant development has reached rental applications after its February update reported the building closed in and siding underway. The owner targeted summer 2026 for resident move-in, so the useful public check now is occupancy or project closeout.
On Nimbus Way N.E., the organization’s Midfield Heights partnership with Rohit Homes broke ground April 23. Two mid-rise buildings will provide 176 homes, with the first anticipated in late 2027 and the second in mid-2028. Mount Pleasant is at lease-up while Midfield Heights has just entered a multi-year construction sequence.
Calgary Housing’s Rundle Manor page still describes 135 homes as under construction and targets completion in the second quarter of 2026, but it provides no later completion or occupancy update. Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta also did not publish a dated, named Calgary-area project that could be verified as actively under construction during this research pass. Neither belongs beside projects with current site milestones.
Logel Homes says its condominium and townhome buildings work toward roughly 50% presales before construction begins. Its new REALTOR program may help projects clear that sales threshold, but a marketed building is not yet a construction start, trade schedule or field scope.
The City says microtunnelling for the McKenzie Sanitary Siphon began this month on both sides of the Bow River, ahead of open-cut work and later restoration. The Bearspaw South Feeder Main replacement is further along: the City reported September 24 that approximately 80% of the replacement pipe had been installed and more than 90% of the required materials were already in Calgary. The announced next step is a shutdown and tie-in to the existing water system.
Calgary Custom Concepts helps define renovation, custom-home and interior scopes before they reach the field.
