Alloy Homes completed Hearth House in 2025: 3,295 square feet, four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a masonry arch organizing the library and den. Sandstone from the original Calgary house was salvaged into the new interior. On September 12, BILD Alberta named it the province’s best infill between 2,500 and 4,000 square feet.
Ultimate Renovations’ Inner City Retreat won the infill category under 2,500 square feet. Calgary’s three whole-home renovation bands went to Kay2 Contracting’s Refined on 104th, Rusch Design Build’s Ridgeview Renewal House and Rusch’s Oakmount Revival. Ultimate also won both kitchen-renovation bands with Springbank Modern Classic and Chef Crafted Kitchen; Rusch’s Oak & Onyx Bath won the bathroom category. Brilliance Homes’ Aurora2 won Garden / Secondary Suite. The dollar ranges are award categories, not confirmed project costs.
Calgary Housing began exterior redevelopment of Bridgeland Place in August after nine months of demolition and abatement stripped the 17-storey tower to cast concrete. The $90-million program replaces windows, siding and the building envelope before reconstructing the interiors as 203 one-, two- and three-bedroom mixed-income homes. Completion and resident move-ins are anticipated in 2028.
Onward Homes reduced its 108 Mission Road S.W. proposal from 61 homes to 45, lowered the maximum height to approximately four storeys along Mission Road and three along Erlton Terrace, increased parking from 19 stalls to 28 and moved parkade access to Mission Road. Council gave the land-use amendment first reading on September 15. The development permit and second and third readings remain outstanding.
